What are some reasons I should let my 15 year old son buy Grand Theft Auto 4?

He is very mature and repsonsible, hes acitive in the Boy Scouts and other activities. He just spent his money on a Xbox 360 and want to buy Grant Thef Auto 4. He has had the older Grand Theft Auto for about a year now and I have not seen any changes in his attitude or behavior. Should I let him get this newer Grand Theft Auto? What are some reasons I should let my 15 year old son buy Grand Theft Auto 4?
I'm 13 and have played most Grand Theft Autos to date. Grand Theft Auto 4 is a tad more graphic, but is about as violent as the older Grand Theft Auto. The older Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is more violent, because the protagonist is cold blooded, and cusses when he kills an innocent person.

If he can handle the old GTA, then he can definitely hand this newer Grand Theft Auto 4
Because at 15 he should know the difference between make believe and real life. Do you really think the game will influence him to get in a car and run people over, or beat people with base ball bats? He is going to grow up and see and hear way worse things than content in Grand Theft Auto. What are some reasons I should let my 15 year old son buy Grand Theft Auto 4?
I can't say that Grand Theft Auto is a very good game for your kid. It's more of an adult game.

It's basically, murder, swearing, and stealing. Not very good. If I were to suggest a better game, I'd choose a more fantasy game like Assassins Creed, or Halo, or even Gears of War, or Bioshock. Those are ALL less violent and more fun games.
if he's already playing the older one, then what's wrong with letting him play this one? If you said he was immature, I'd say maybe hold off a little, but by 15, he should know the difference between fantasy and reality.

I've been playing those games since i was 12, and i havent stopped almost 7 years later. Most places do enforce the rule that you have to be at least 17 to but M rated games, so go with him. :)What are some reasons I should let my 15 year old son buy Grand Theft Auto 4?
If you feel that doing so is a good decision, then yes. Personally, I would not play any games of that nature (the most violent game I could see myself playing is Death Race from 1976, fairly tame by today's standards, essentially you're the Grim Reaper driving a car to put zombies back in their grave if I remember what I was told about it right, and it was bloodless along with Pong-like graphics), but that's just me.
duh. of course you should

I'm 14 and i've never seen anyone change their attitude because of a video game... including grand theft auto

and yeah it promotes violence in the game... but it doesn't promote it as in go steal this car and run that guy over. it's just for fun

just get him the game!
If he's mature, responsible, active out of the house and school, and has played the older version(s) of GTA, then I see no problem in letting him get GTA 4. :)
if hes a good kid and you think he deserves it i would. id be proud that my kid could afford something like that and id want to buy him a game for him to enjoy and to show im proud of him.
first of all he's 15, you'd have to buy it its rated M.

and second of all, its just a video game he's not gonna become a russian crime dude.
yes, its his money, i know its violent but most play station games are, and if you dont let him, he'll end up borrowing it off his friend or something
Sure. The older one is worse than the newer one. haha. But it's not big deal.
hello im 13 and i have the game all i do is drive around hiting people lol yea the game is awesome
Buy it but if you start to see attitude in his behavior take it away from him
If he can handle it and i think he can

Because at 15 I doubt he's stupid enough to copy what he see's in video games.
Yeah. But you play it with him for a while just to check it out.
yeah i mean you rather have him doing it on a game then in real life. so why not.
sure, why not? doesn't seem like a bad idea at all
Yes, I'm 15 years old an i'm from holland i went to the store to buy it myself but i had to show my ID and i couldn't get it so i went home asked my dad to come with me than i got the game.

My parents know the game is about killing, murder, sex, drugs they do care because i'm not allowed to see sex movies and they watch me all the time. (I can see all the other moves) But they know the same thing as i do ''It's just a game!'' you are just murdering a bunch of pixels most of the time im laughing really hard because somethings just look unnatural and really stupid.

But if you are buying it for him and he's playing it all day and you see a few changes in him (he's getting more violent and swearing more) take it away from him or just let him play it for a few hours a day.

Try to watch the game a bit if he's always looking at ''girls'' take it away from him for a few days for him to cool down, or let him play in a place in the house where you are walking along most of the time. I play in the living room (because we got a huge tv there ^^) so my parents are there most of the time and they watch me.
