I have a friend who was convicted of Grand Theft Auto in the 3rd Degree and I am wanting to know what that means exactly. Trying to figure it out on your own you end up with alot of info on the video game and it gets frustrating to say the least. Anyways....it was in the State of Florida.What exactly is Grand Theft Auto 3rd Degree and I do not mean the video game?
Grand Theft = property was stolen
Auto = vehicle
Third Degree = severity of the charge (lower numbers generally mean more severe)

It means that they have been convicted of a third degree felony. The degree and crime will determine the range of punishment.
